LeadUP is for you if you have completed Basecamp, or are age 18-23

Take your leadership skills to the next level at this week of leadership training and personal discipleship that will inspire, stretch, challenge, and help prepare you for wherever you are serving over the summer and beyond.

You will:

  • Grow in understanding of how faith develops in children and young people

  • Think more about helping young people explore the Bible including how to give an inspiring biblical talk

  • Explore how to effectively lead a small group

  • Consider your leadership style and the role you are likely to play in a team

  • Participate in a day of team building activities

  • Learn skills of reflection throughout the week and understand how this can aid personal growth.

Working as part of a team you will have many opportunities to put your learning and new skills into practice. All of this, alongside quality Bible teaching and time for personal reflection, will help you move forward your Christian faith.

LeadUP is based at comfortable Alltnacriche, SU Scotland’s residential centre, near Aviemore in the Cairngorms National Park

The COmMISSION Programme

LeadUP is part of the COmMISSION programme. In addition to the training week, you will have opportunity to turn your training into service as you take part as a team member on a holiday or mission team.

Finish the summer with a weekend of review and celebration where there will be time, along with others, to share and reflect on the part you and hundreds of others have played in sharing Jesus with Scotland’s young people.

Lendrick Muir is the venue for this year’s Review Weekend from 23-25 August 2024. (Cost is included in your booking, please indicate when booking if you will be attending The Review Weekend).

Cost: The fee for LeadUP covers

  • Your place at LeadUP and the Review Weekend

  • Accommodation, food, and resources

We are able to offer COmMISSION at a substantially discounted fee as a result of generous donations and encourage all participants to consider how they can meet this. We have even prepared some ideas for you! https://www.suscotland.org.uk/volunteer/commission/fundraising-for-commission/.

We do not want anyone to miss out because of costs, though. Please contact info@suholidays.org.uk if you would like to discuss this.

What about activities?

As well as the activities listed on the event pages, you'll also get a chance to take part in other activities at this site. Check out the full list at the venue page here.

What's the location like?

This is a place like no other. Beautiful hillside location. Near Aviemore in the amazing Scottish Highlands.

What's Outside?

It’s stunning! The centre has 17 acres of land which we manage in partnership with A Rocha UK. With sports field, wooded areas, and burn, you will find loads of places to play, or sit, reflect and enjoy the view of the mountains.

Where is it?

Alltnacriche is at Lynwilg, very close to Aviemore and just off the A9. It’s close to Loch Morlich and the Cairngorms, in fact it’s actually inside the Cairngorms National Park. There are loads of visitor attractions nearby and it’s a fantastic area for outdoor activities. Hard to imagine a better place for a holiday.
