The days will be spent journeying in open canoes down part of Scotland’s fastest flowing river, the Spey. The evenings will be spent beside the river, setting up camp, cooking food over open fires and washing up together. Time for games or maybe some wild swimming. Finishing the evening exploring Biblical journeys by the campfire. If the weather is fine, the choice of sleeping out under the stars.
If the picture that creates in your mind gets you excited, come and join the trip. SU Holidays will provide all the outdoor equipment you need, just bring yourself, lots of energy and enthusiasm and some determination. No canoeing or camping experience necessary, this will be an adventure to remember with new friends made, skills learnt and honed and plenty to talk about when you get home.
Please note: The accommodation is in tents (or under the stars if you are up for it) wild camping each night. There will be no access to toilets or showers for most of the trip. We will use good outdoor practice for toileting and washing – don’t worry if you’ve never done it before, we can give you plenty of top tips and handy hints, you’ll quickly feel like a pro!
If the weather is really too bad for camping we have basic, indoor accommodation available. If the river conditions make river canoeing impossible we will use an alternative canoeing venue or alternative activities (selection of trail biking, hill walking, gorge walking, crate climbing, archery and abseiling).
Whatever happens, we will have some great adventures together.
