Drama Camp is different to many of the other holidays run by SU Scotland. Alongside other activities, we work together to produce a show to perform to friends and family. It’s hard work learning lines, developing characters and trying not to fall over on stage, but the sense of achievement we all have at the end of the week is amazing!
This year at Drama Camp, we're planning a fantastic week incorporating script work, improvisation and more, culminating in a show for family and friends in Strathaven Town Mill Theatre. More information on our 2020 production will be posted on the Foolproof Creative Arts website and Facebook page nearer the time.
Once again we’ll be based at Gowanbank House, a beautiful old house with extensive grounds and plenty of space for rehearsals, workshops and relaxing. Whether you decide to come on your own or with a group of friends you’ll soon feel as though you’ve known everyone at the event forever.
Drama Camp will be led by Suzi Sherriffs, who will be supported by a continued partnership with Foolproof Creative Arts. The team is made up of a mixture of students, ex-campers and other performers so there are plenty of people on hand to help you learn. All of the leaders at Drama Camp are Christians and enjoy using their gifts to tell people about God.
There will be workshops (previous workshops have included circus skills, comedy, accents, stage make-up, dance and music), a day trip, a talent show, amazing food, team games, a prayer space and brilliant banter. Our evening meetings are a time when everyone (old and young) can hear from God, worship Him and explore what the Bible teaches us about Jesus and ourselves.
We are looking forward to welcoming you to Drama Camp this year, whether it's your first foray into the world of theatre, or you're an old hand.
Your team leader for this holiday is Suzi Sherriffs.

Located on 6 beautiful acres on the edge of Darvel, this place is like no other!
Gowanbank is a beautiful old house that has recently been refurbished and is ready and waiting for a visit. It has so many great areas to hang out with friends and relax, a big meeting room, a cosy fire place and a large dining hall.
It is located just off of the A71 (also known as the Darvel Road). It is located in Darvel itself, but is also a short drive away from Kilmarnock, the nearest biggest town.
