Go Conference - TGC1
The Go Conference is SU Scotland’s national youth conference for S4-S6 pupils who want to grow in their relationship with God and understand how the Bible shapes all areas of life… home, school and friendships.
Jesus is More! We’ll be exploring the book of Hebrews to discover just how amazing Jesus is. He has been in your shoes, he knows how you feel and he calls you to focus on him. Look more closely at Jesus and you’ll realise that whatever problems you face, however tempted you might be to turn back and whatever the world might offer, Jesus is more.
Gordon Roy will be guiding us through these sessions on Hebrews. Gordon works for SU Scotland as Regional Worker for Stirling, and Clackmannanshire and leads the North Team. If you’re wondering if you’ve met him before, it could have been at Equip North, Christmas Houseparty, Basecamp Kingscross, Creative Arts or Watersports holidays; the list goes on (and on)… If you fancy a conversation starter when you meet him, try asking about his dogs or fire eating!
The writer to the Hebrews wants their readers to move beyond a basic understanding of Jesus and grow in maturity (6:1).
A selection of workshops will explore ways to grow as a Christian and look at issues facing us today.
The writer to the Hebrews was keen that the church would be equipped to live out their faith in Jesus (13:20-21).
Equipping sessions will consider ways in which God may want to equip you to serve at home, school and among your friends.
Go Conference takes place from Friday 8th through to Monday 11th October 2021
Most Scottish schools are off this weekend. If yours isn't we're happy to provide a letter to schools about the Go conference asking if they will let you have the Monday off so you can come.
We're excited to be able to meet together once again! But Go conference will be small this year as we begin residentials again, Book your place early to avoid disappointment!
The event costs £95 and includes all meals and activities.
There is a good public bus service connecting the North of Scotland to Kinross Park and Ride where participants will be met and taken to Lendrick Muir. Alternatively, transport will run from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Lendrick Muir (optional extra, £15).
