Watersports
29 Jun - 05 Jul, Glencoe , S1 - S6, £505.00
Accompanied travel: Glasgow

Our Watersports Holiday is a fantastic opportunity to be sailing and paddling on Loch Leven – the sea loch at the foot of Glencoe. We offer sailing in single-handed Topper dinghies or in larger crewed boats where, once you’ve learned your skills (and gained a Royal Yachting Association qualification to prove it) you’ll be able to replace your instructor with a friend to sail with the tide on our expedition day.

Alternatively spend a couple of days mixing kayaks, canoes and paddleboards to gain a Scottish Canoe Association award then open up the loch and Glencoe Quarry to more fun and activity.

We’ll ask you to make that choice (sailing or paddlesports) a few weeks before our event but you’ll still have a day’s instruction on your second option and be able to move between the crafts for sessions later in the week.

At the end of each of our five activity days (note the Sunday start), we head back to our base at the Glencoe Outdoor Centre to make use of the drying room, showers, dorms, dining room, lounge, grounds – and maybe even a quick sugar fix from the village shop before dinner.

We join with the mountain bike campers to share accommodation, meals and our times exploring the Bible making for a great mix of up to 35 people on this SU Holiday week.

Your team leader for this holiday is John Allan.

What's the location like?

Don't expect a day in town or at the shops - there's far too much on offer at Glencoe to give in to such tame distractions!

What's outside?

Set amongst the spectacular loch and mountain scenery of Glencoe in the Scottish Highlands, the centre is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Surrounded by fabulous terrain for adventure activities on the doorstep, there's a broad range of outdoor pursuits on both land and water available.

What's inside?

The Glencoe Outdoor Centre is based in a small converted country house, offering accommodation for up to 35 in comfortable bunk-bedded rooms. Built over 100 years ago the house has retained much of its character, which helps to maintain the atmosphere of an extended family home.

There's a log fire, a games room, a comfortable lounge and a large drying room, and that's just for starters.

Where is it?

Right next to Loch Leven, in the village of Glencoe.
