The Go Conference - TGC1

Training, Go Conference
14 - 17 Oct, Lendrick Muir , S4 - S6, £95.00
Accompanied travel: Glasgow (£16), Edinburgh (£16)

The Go Conference is SU Scotland’s national youth conference for S4-S6 pupils who want to grow in their relationship with God and understand how the Bible shapes all areas of life… home, school and friendships.

We’ll spend time each day looking at Saul of Tarsus, the arrogant, angry Pharisee and persecutor of the church who is transformed into Paul who fills much of the book of Acts planting churches and whose letters became books in the New Testament. What a transformation!

This doesn’t just have to be Paul’s story, but ours too! Paul claims that all who follow Jesus are being “transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory.” (2 Corinthians 3:18) Come and discover what it means to follow Jesus, submit to his change and ongoing transformation in our lives and how we can serve him.

We’re excited that Colin Sinclair will be guiding us through our sessions about Paul. Colin has a rich history with Scripture Union having served as the chair of SU International with SU movements around the world; he has led camps with his wife, Ruth at Alltnacriche for many years and was even General Director once upon a time!  He has recently retired as minister at Palmerston Place Church of Scotland in Edinburgh, and as a former Moderator of the General Assembly gets to be called Very Reverend!

Paul’s prayer for those who follow Jesus is that they “may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God” (Colossians 1:9-10)

We’ve put together a great selection of workshops exploring ways to grow as a Christian and looking at issues facing us today.

Paul’s passion was that others might hear of the good news of Jesus through him and other followers: “How” he asks. “can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?” (Romans 10:14)

Equipping sessions will consider ways in which God may want to equip you to serve at home, school and among your friends.

Go Conference takes place at SU Scotland’s Lendrick Muir Centre near Kinross from Friday 14th through to Monday 17th October 2021.
