The Greater Glasgow Secondary Weekend is for young people in S1-S6, from Glasgow, East Renfrewshire, Renfrewshire and Inverclyde. It's filled with exciting activities and opportunities to explore the Bible. The event is led by Craig Morris and Lynne Hamilton, along with a team of accredited SU Scotland volunteers.
The weekend takes place at Gowanbank which is the perfect place in the countryside to spend a few days away. Inside there are comfortable dorms, games room and large meeting room. On site, there are lots of activities to choose from to make this a fantastic weekend.
The weekend is a chance to have fun doing activities together and learning from first class Bible teaching as well as there being plenty of time to catch up with friends and make new ones. We’d LOVE you to join us!
Activities may include: Archery, Sports and Games and Crafts.

With a range of exciting outdoor activities, there’s something for everyone — from peaceful nature walks to high-energy challenges like Crate Building, a team-based activity where you stack crates beneath your feet to climb as high as possible… until they tumble, or, with a burst of courage, you leap into the air. Why not end the day gathered around the flickering bonfire glow, roasting gooey marshmallows and lifting your voice in spontaneous song?
Gowanbank is a beautiful old house with spectacular views out across the Irvine valley and lots of great areas to hang out with friends and relax. From friendly competitions in the games room to quiet moments of reflection in the bright meeting room, whether you’re seeking excitement or a peaceful retreat, you belong here!
Cradled within six acres of woodland on the edge of Darvel, Ayrshire, SU Scotland’s Gowanbank Centre offers the perfect place to ‘join the adventure!’
