Our S1-S6 Creative Arts Holiday is held in the English Lake District at the fantastic Bassenfell Manor. It’s a week of creativity, friendship and fun. Our activity programme balances visual and performing arts based on the skills and talents of each year’s team. The activities listed below are therefore a flavour of previous years options rather than the definitive list for 2026.

You build your programme for the week based on interests you already have or want to develop in half-day workshops. Towards the end of the week you’ll chose one area to specialise in for our final night performance and exhibition. Many of the team are ex-campers who are really committed to the event and some are employed in the arts industry.

Midweek we throw in a day trip to Keswick for rowing on Derwentwater, touring the local attractions including charity, outdoor and coffee shops and the option to climb Cat Bells; if the climb doesn’t take your breath away, the view all the way back to Bassenfell will.

We try to explore the Bible creatively as well and your week’s sketchbook becomes a journal of all that your week contains.

No previous experience of any of our activities is necessary. Bring along what might help you develop your current interests (e.g. musical instruments, ideas and sketching materials) and we’ll provide what you need to find new ones.

Your team leader for this holiday is Gordon Roy.
