LeadUP is for you if you have completed Basecamp or are aged 18-23.

Take your leadership skills to the next level with a week of leadership training and personal discipleship that will inspire, stretch, challenge, and equip you for wherever God may be calling you to serve over the summer and beyond. As part of the programme, all trainees will work towards achieving an SCQF Level 6 qualification in Youth and Children's Work accredited by Qualification Scotland.

At LeadUP, you will:

  • Grow in your understanding of how faith develops in children and young people

  • Explore how to help young people engage with the Bible, including how to give an inspiring and engaging Bible talk

  • Develop skills for effectively leading and facilitating small groups

  • Reflect on your leadership style and the unique contribution you can make within a team

  • Take part in a day of team-building activities and challenges

  • Learn the discipline of reflection and discover how it can support your personal growth and development

Working as part of a team, you'll have many opportunities to put your learning and newly developed skills into practice. Combined with excellent Bible teaching, meaningful discussion, and time for personal reflection, LeadUP will help you grow in confidence, leadership, and your walk with God.

LeadUP takes place at the comfortable surroundings of Alltnacriche, SU Scotland's residential centre near Aviemore in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park.

The COmMISSION Programme

LeadUP is part of the COmMISSION programme. Alongside the training week, you'll have the opportunity to put your learning into action by serving as a team member on an SU holiday or mission.

The programme concludes with a Review Weekend, bringing together participants from across Scotland for a time of celebration, reflection, and encouragement. Together, you'll have the opportunity to share stories and reflect on the part you, alongside hundreds of others, have played in sharing Jesus with Scotland's children and young people.

Lendrick Muir will host the Review Weekend from 20-22 August 2027. The cost of the Review Weekend is included in your LeadUP booking. Please indicate when booking if you plan to attend.
